Miraikan × Tokyo Bay eSG: Futurescape — Generating Possible Cities with AI

Picturing the future of Tokyo Bay, one block at a time

A special workshop planned and run by ASIBA, in partnership with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Shimizu Corporation, held at the award ceremony for “Ikaballoon,” the team that won the Tokyo Bay eSG Award at the 7th Minecraft Cup Tokyo Block Tournament. In the “Real Mamorigame Workshop,” participants took a screenshot of the award-winning Minecraft world and used generative AI to transform it into an image of the actual bay-area townscape. By adjusting four parameters themselves — text input, image-analysis precision, color inheritance, and the atmosphere of the bay area — they created the scenery they had in mind. The generated images were printed as postcards and presented to the winners together with a certificate and a 3D-printed model.
