Peekabugs is an observation tool themed around the “life hiding close by” in urban areas — plants, insects, and other small creatures. By actually taking the tool outside, children see, touch, collect, and imagine, noticing forms of life in everyday scenery that usually go overlooked, and building the ability to discover, think, and express on their own. Even in the city, diverse forms of life carry on all around us. Peekabugs is an attempt to let each person, sparked by an encounter with life hiding nearby, observe the world through their own lens and generate new discoveries. Through sensory observation and expression, it also aims to be an entryway that awakens the sensitivity, curiosity, and creativity sleeping inside each person, helping them notice their own talents and possibilities.
