August 24, 2025: The kitchen on the 4th floor of Yamaji
...
When I got home, the kitchen looked like this lol. The
leak has been exposed, so I'm going to fix it.

August 24, 2025: We had an
eggplant party at Yamaji
Hayashikaito brought some friends over, and we had an eggplant party. The food prepared by Nakako, the designer, was absolutely delicious.
We were able to cook on the third floor using two gas burners. Still, I’d really prefer to do it on the fourth floor where there’s a sink.

FIG.3
August 26, 2025: The ceiling
in the third-floor storage room at Yamaji collapsed.
Water from a leak on the fourth floor seeped down to the third floor and caused the ceiling to collapse.
The room even smells like beetles. It’s covered in
mold and looks gross.
I’ll figure something out.
August 28, 2025: We had a “silent” barbecue
on the Nihei balcony.
The temperature was just right for a summer night, so we ate tons of meat! We had to hold back our laughter as hard as we could because we’d get scolded again if we made too much noise. This is definitely becoming a regular thing.

August 29, 2025:
Greg started staying over at my place
Greg is an American college student I met at the Saki Island Demolition Festival two years ago! When we met, he was just a fresh-faced freshman, but now he’s apparently designing shoes through a business partnership with a famous company—he’s grown by leaps and bounds. He joined us on the condition that he’d help with the demolition in exchange for borrowing a sofa in Kameido!

FIG.5
August 29, 2025: The
kitchen and bathroom at
Nihei’s place are super clean now!
We tore out the kitchen floor and ceiling! It feels like the air is cleaner now. Since the partition between the kitchen and the tatami room still seems usable, we decided to leave just the posts and the threshold. The
bathroom should be clean enough for women to use now, too.
We’ve completely switched the toilet, kitchen, and washing machine over to Nichirei Water! We shut off the original plumbing at the main valve. This should put an end to the leaks—hopefully.

Saki Island Team Is All Here
The Saki Island Demolition Festival team (Brian, Mai, Greg, Goro), who happened to be gathered in Tokyo, met up in Kameido! Goro had intended to just observe, but once he saw what was going on, he got the urge to help out and joined in. He single-handedly tore down the leaking ceiling next to the bedroom.

POD Is Up! It’s Become a Showroom!
Since entering a design competition just for the sake of it wouldn’t be worth the effort, we decided to treat it as a deadline to move the project forward—so we set out to complete the showroom by that deadline. I thought I was going to die after pulling two all-nighters, but both the real-world production team and the board production team worked hard, and we ended up with a really cool showroom.

Kitchen Is Back!
We’ve temporarily put the kitchen back together by propping it up with some legs! Now we can wash dishes.

4th Floor Floor Pour! The Mysterious Follower Festival
Yamaji went so viral that he’s officially become an influencer , and I started getting tons of DMs from strangers offering to help, so I decided to invite them over to pitch in! Six young people who looked like they had nothing better to do showed up, lol—influencers are amazing! We completely stripped the ceiling
on the 4th floor! It’s spacious! We also poured the floor—it was tough, but it doesn’t have to be perfect, right?

Title
Rigo came into the office for the whole day, starting first thing in the morning! Massive progress
September 13, 2025
, Nihei: Heavy rain caused a serious leak—the damage is massive
The concrete on the roof has already lost its waterproofing; water is leaking from the roof, seeping through the 5th-floor slab, penetrating the 4th-floor slab, and pouring down onto Yamaji on the 3rd floor

: I
came to Kameido for the first time!
I brought some souvenirs, so please eat them. The
Paddington bear can is cute, so I’m keeping it.
October 2
, 2025, Kirari: I was trying to make
a Kirari Box, but it turned into a shelf instead
I made it out of a kitchen door and a piece of a sliding door I’d cut up and used as display furniture for the Takenaka Circular Exhibition. It’s
pretty heavy—I want to put wheels on it.
